Micky Haller went out for breakfast and it dawned upon him that Reggie Campo looked familiar and looked like someone he recognized, he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Then it occured to him that it was Martha Renteria. Micky had a photo of each of the girls, Reggie and Martha, but it was after they had been beaten up. He folded the photo so that non beaten sides of their faces were showing, he put the pictures next to each other and they were almost an exact match. They could pass for sisters.
Micky recalled that the case that related to Martha was with a man named Jesus Mendez. Jesus had always told Micky that he didn't kill Martha but Micky told him just to take the offer of going to jail because it would be too hard to back up the case. Micky went to the jail where Jesus was in and asks to speak to him. Micky talked to Jesus about the night Martha was killed. Micky had 9 pictures of different men and one of the pictures was of Roulet. There was a mystery man in the room with Martha before Jesus got there and that could potentially be Martha's killer. After Micky held up the photo of Roulet, Jesus said that Roulet was the guy there before Jesus. Micky decides he needs to meet up with Levin, and they discuss what Micky had just put together about the case.
A few days later a few defense attorneys are going to go out to the dodgers game. Mickey is there and is waiting for Raul Levin to arrive when he gets a strange phone call from the police department. The officers inform Micky that Levin is dead and Micky said he would be right over to check things out.
