Reflection

This whole semester I think I have read a little over 2000 pages. I really enjoyed reading books this semester, I have learned to like reading this semester. At the beginning of this semester I enjoyed reading, but I felt like I never had time to do it, however this class helped me to realize that I actually do have time for reading I just have to make it. Over the summer I will have much more free time to enjoy myself and read. I think over the summer I will continue to read independently because I have found some good authors and series that I really enjoy reading. I have also found that reading is a relaxing way to forget about all the brambles of life. I liked doing the blog assignments, however I think that when it was 4 posts a week it got to be a hassle, I really enjoyed when it was 2 posts a week because I felt I did a better job on them instead of just rushing through the blog posts. I really enjoyed learning new vocabulary every week because I really do think I have learned a lot of new words this semester. As for the poetry part of the class, I really did not like poetry at the beginning of this class but now that we have looked at different types of poems and done projects over poetry, I appreciate poetry more than I did before. This class has helped me to enjoy poetry, reading, and vocabulary.

The Brass Verdict

Haller was finished looking through the cases for the night and was heading out into the parking lot when the mysterious man in the photo showed up in the parking lot. Haller starts to freak out and the man starts yelling and chasing after him. Haller does not know whats going on and he is pretty sure this was the man who killed Vincent. Haller runs into the office and grabs the gun and shoots up to the ceiling to scare the man away. Micky then calls Bosch and tells him what happened and Bosch heads over to the office as fast as he can.
Bosch arrives at the office and now they need to figure out who this man is. Bosch questions Haller on what might that mysterious man want from Haller, but Micky claims he does not know anything. Bosch is starting to get angry with Haller because he thinks that Micky is lying to him. Bosch finally starts to listen to Haller and believes that he is not lying now, Bosch still thinks that there might be a bribe involved with Vincents murder case. But the bribe would have been made five months ago, so why would Vincent have been killed now? These are the questions they will be discussing over dinner at Dan Tanas

The Brass Verdict

It looks like Micky is going to get Patrick Henson, the guy with the necklace theft charge, only released with a drug charge he had previously. Micky had Dwight and there was nothing he could do. They are gonna let Henson walk, all he has to do is show his rehab records and he should be clean. Micky was still at the office for the night, but Cisco and Lorna are still concerned so Cisco leaves a gun with Micky for the night. Micky had just remembered that Patrick said he was living out of his car and sleeping in lifeguard stands, so Micky tells Patrick he can stay at his place until he gets some money in his pocket, and Henson agrees.
Micky is finally going into lockdown studying all the files on the Wyms and Elliot case, and after the first few looks through the files he doesnt spot anything. Then finally Micky thinks he has found the "Magic Bullet." He studied the police reports on both of the cases and he realizes that they both say 4-Alpha-1. Haller calls Cisco to find out exactly what 4-alpha-1 meant, well alpha was the type of car, it was the most important car and gets the best cases around town and the 1 means the person so if there was a 2 after it it would be person number 2. The 4 means the fourth district. It seemed that 4-alpha-1 and 4-alpha-2 were reported to be in two different places at two different times. The "Magic Bullet."

The Brass Verdict pgs 208-270

Mr. Haller went to meet with the judge, but he was four minutes late so the judge made him give a donation to the make a wish foundation. The check was for $250. The meeting began and it was between Elliott, Haller, and the prosecutor. Elliot began to speak up at the meeting claiming he didn't do any of the things he was charged with, but Haller had to cool him down and tell him not to say anything that he didn't want to come back and haunt him.
Haller and Cisco were still curious as to why Vincent took the Wyms case? Was it for a bribe? Was it connected to Elliot's case? Haller went to Joanne Giorgetti's office to get a copy of the missing file. He reviews the case and it looks like Wyms did indeed commit the crime he was charged with, but this case would get Vincent no real benefits, why had he taken it?
Micky ran into Angel Romero at the court house and Micky comes to find out that Romero actually had the Wyms case first but Vincent came asking for it before he was killed. Micky asks why he wanted the case and Romero said all he told him was for pro bono.
After all this information, Haller decides that he wants to go into lockdown and figure out how these cases connect. He is going to stay in the office alone and he sends Cisco and Lorna home, but they are concerned he might get hurt. Micky insists that they go home. Hopefully nothing bad happens to Micky.
