Micky Haller calls his first witness to the stand, Mary Alice Winsor. He goes on to ask her what the knife is about and why he had it. She explained they got it because of the real estate buisness and because she got raped. The knife was supposedly only for protection. Then the defense calls Louis Roulet to the stand.
First Micky is just simply asking questions of what happened the night of the attack and this were going smoothly. Minton starts asking questions about the night of the attack on Reggie Campo as well. Roulet tells Minton the exact same story he told to Micky Haller when he first got called into jail.
After all the court action was done, Micky finds Roulet and demands his gun back that he supposedly stole. There was no reply from Roulet, just a smile. Ted then tries to make another deal with Micky for Roulet, but again Micky declines because he thinks he can win this thing.
The next day Minton calls Dwayne Jeffery Corliss to the stand. Mr. Minton accuses Roulet of saying he "gave a bitch what she desereved." Well Corliss has a record of being a snitch and a liar in the court systems, so this is how Micky gets the judge on Roulet's side.
After all is done in the courts Sobel, the officer on the Levin case, calls micky and says "how is your day?" and Micky says "ive been better," then Sobel says "Not after you hear what I'm offering to do for you."
