The Brass Verdict pgs 208-270

Mr. Haller went to meet with the judge, but he was four minutes late so the judge made him give a donation to the make a wish foundation. The check was for $250. The meeting began and it was between Elliott, Haller, and the prosecutor. Elliot began to speak up at the meeting claiming he didn't do any of the things he was charged with, but Haller had to cool him down and tell him not to say anything that he didn't want to come back and haunt him.
Haller and Cisco were still curious as to why Vincent took the Wyms case? Was it for a bribe? Was it connected to Elliot's case? Haller went to Joanne Giorgetti's office to get a copy of the missing file. He reviews the case and it looks like Wyms did indeed commit the crime he was charged with, but this case would get Vincent no real benefits, why had he taken it?
Micky ran into Angel Romero at the court house and Micky comes to find out that Romero actually had the Wyms case first but Vincent came asking for it before he was killed. Micky asks why he wanted the case and Romero said all he told him was for pro bono.
After all this information, Haller decides that he wants to go into lockdown and figure out how these cases connect. He is going to stay in the office alone and he sends Cisco and Lorna home, but they are concerned he might get hurt. Micky insists that they go home. Hopefully nothing bad happens to Micky.
